Falco Nardi

Info:

LAURO GOLF has its origins at the centre of a natural enviroment and has nowadays 27 holes to be combined 9 plus 9. From the beginning the design of the complex is based on respect for the enviroment that surrounds it, not only maintaining every centennial holm oak but also planting thousands of new trees, most of them andalusian indigenous species.

The course was designed by Falco Nardi who made it technical but not difficult , concentration and the right choice of club will let you get a good score in any of the fifty competitions that Lauro hold each year.

The enlargement of the course, holes 18 to 27 and designed by Mariano Benitez. also requires concentration adn cleverness, the course can be played with out a buggy as it is mostly flat although there are two holes at the foot of the mountain which offer exceptional views over the Guadalhorce Valley and Mediterranean sea.

KNOWING LAURO GOLF

This eighteen holes golf course, designed by Folco Nardi, was opened to the public the 09th of May 1992. Placed a few kilometres away from the town centre and the International Airport of Malaga, the enclave of the course is the only one by its natural beauty.

ACCESS

To get to Lauro from road N-340 (Málaga motorway), you must take the exit to Coín, and go into the road A-404 (on the way to Coín). Lauro Golf is in the kilometre 14 of this road, in the municipality of Alhaurín de la Torre.

The Club House

Lauro Golf Club House is set in a cortijo of over two hundred years called “El Paredón”. According to people from the area, the cortijo was a hide out for bandits, amongst them one called “Pasoslargos”.

Difficulty of the holes

Lauro Golf is an eighteen golf course par 72 and a total distance of 5.971 metres. Each one of the holes designed by Folco Nardi commemorate a famous bullfighter. Let's see their characteristics:

Hole 1 “Luis Miguel”, par 4, 303 metres Hole without too many difficulties where you must overcome from the start a lake, and where the green is well protected.

Hole 2 “Curro”, par 3, 131 metres

Easy and short hole where getting the par is not usually difficult.

Hole 3 “Ordóñez”, par 4, 325 metres Starting tee in a high place, with spectacular views and “out” on the left. The green is highly complicated.

Hole 4 “El Cordobés”, par 3, 185 metres Hole with a pronounced ascending slope that makes difficult getting the green. There is a gully on the left.

Hole 5 “Bienvenida”, par 5, 461 metres Dog-leg on the right, with a tree covered rough that makes a lot of pressure. The green is well protected.

Hole 6 “Vázquez”, par 4, 395 metres Quite a long hole in descending way with a hazard on the right. It seems easier than it is.

Hole 7 “Manolete”, par 5, 530 metres Very pronounced dog-leg on the left. It is a very long hole that golfers can shorten, but taking quite a lot of risks.

Hole 8 “Ortega, par 4, 303 metres Although it is a short and straight hole, it is well protected with out bounds on the left and on the right.

Hole 9 “Arruza”, par 4, 322 metres The first shot must be well calculated given that there is a lake about 200 metres away from the starting point.

Hoyo 10, “Litri”, par 4, 311 metres In this hole, there is a lake near the green. Its surface has two very big platforms.

Hole 11, “Marcial”, par 3, 119 metres Beautiful and short holes, with a green surrounded by huge trees.

Hole 12, “Belmonte”, par 4, 313 metres Dog-leg on the left with magnificent views of the city of Málaga.

Hole 13, “Joselito”, par 5, 549 metres Very long hole with a quick dog-leg on the left. The green is very well protected by bunkers and a lake.

Hole 14, “Bombita”, par 3, 179 metres Very long hole whose green has two platforms that will need too much care in the putt.

Hole 15 “Machaquito”, par 4, 318 metres Descending hole very well protected by bunkers.

Hole 16, “Guerra”, par 4, 415 metres This ascending holes becomes par 4 though being considered par 5 at the beginning. It is a very long hole.

Hole 17, “Paquirri”, par 5, 485 metres This hole is in a shallow ascending slope with a very narrow street.

Hole 18, “Frascuelo”, par 4, 329 metres A very difficult hole to put an end to the round as it is marked by three lakes.
